A plague is threatening this sea however, a plague of marine debris. Plastic trash washes into the ocean from every populated shore and the world's oceans are becoming saturated.
The world's attention is slowly being brought to focus on the Sargasso Sea and the possibility that this, Bermuda's immediate marine neighborhood, may become the very first high-seas Marine Protected Area.
